Lamar Leroy Gorley, 21, of Petersburg, Virginia was called to eternal life on January 4, 2017.
Lamar was born on February 7, 1995 to Spencer Leroy Gorley, Jr. and Melodie Webb-Jefferson. He was educated in the Petersburg Public School System and graduated with the Class of 2013. Lamar was loving, kind hearted and considerate but most of all he loved, cared for and was devoted to his family.
Lamar was preceded in death by his uncle, Zander Webb, and grandfather, Spencer Leroy Gorley, Sr.
Lamar leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Melodie Michelle Webb- Jefferson (Javonte); his father, Spencer Leroy Gorley, Jr.; his brother, Jamar Thornton (Kesha); his sisters, Nyshawn Webb, Miesha Webb, Shalexis McRae and Chanea Isom; his nieces and nephews, Ariyah “Tink” Seward, Vonte Isom, Victor Isom, Vanessa Isom, and Vhanea Isom. Also cherishing his memories are his uncles and aunts, David Yancey, Christian Gorley (Jordan), Eric Marable (Marcie), Stefan Coram, Danielle Yancey, Alice Rives (devoted), Nabranna Beasley, Shinda Williams (Jai), Winter Emery, Tia Gorley, Larissa Beasley, Brooque Robinson, and Stephanie White; grandparents, Sue Ella Lee(Billy), Lester Beasley (Annette), Luvenia Gorley, and Linda Jones-White; devoted cousins, Gabrielle Rives, Lakesha Rives, Lamont Rives and Demetrice Rives; godmother, Cheryl Jenkins; and many cousins (42), relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.
Funeral service for Mr. Lamar L. Gorley will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Virginia, Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Pastor, Rev. John Wynn, Officiating. Interment to follow in the Jones Cemetery, Williamson Road, Dinwiddie, Va.
The family is asking that relatives and friends assemble at 333 St. Andrew Street, Petersburg, Virginia at 12:45pm on the day of the service.
