Our hearts were saddened by the passing of our loved one, Alfonza T. Baskerville, 40, of 25715 Greensville Ave., Petersburg Va. He departed his earthly life on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at the Waverly Health & Rehabilitation Center, Waverly, Va.

Alfonza was born to the late Patricia (Diane) Baskerville and Alfonza L. James of Petersburg Va. Alfonza was educated in the Dinwiddie County Public School System where he loved playing football and basketball.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Harris, and Ennis and Bessie James; an aunt, Virginia (Florene) Reese; and uncles, Reuben Baskerville and Calvin Hinton Sr.

Alfonza, affectionately known as “A.T.”, was a loving and caring man. He leaves to cherish his memory: two loving daughters, Amara T. Baskerville and Amina C. Baskerville of Disputanta, Va.; one foster son, Cameron Miles of Disputanta, Va.; a loving, devoted friend, Norman Nicholas; a host of loving Uncles, among them three devoted, Joseph B. Baskerville, Arthur Baskerville and Robert Harris all of West Petersburg, Va.; two devoted great –uncles, Floyd Baskerville (Sallie) of West Petersburg, Va. and George Baskerville of Richmond Va.; a host of loving aunts, among them two devoted, Janice Harris and Loretta James; two devoted great-aunts, Ruby Hinton and Carrie Alexander (Dave); one great-great aunt, Elnora Evans; first cousins, Joseph Reese (Denise), Michelle Baskerville-Jones (CJ), Mechonda Reese and Anthony Harris; a host of cousins, among them one devoted, Fay Lee; two God children, Malik and Mykayla Barnes; God-sisters, Toshia Wilkins, LaShawn Roberts and Jelessa Philips; God brother, Stephen Wiggins; other relatives and friends, among them , Del, Sherrod, Cordell and Neil.

Viewing for Alfonza T. Baskerville will be on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 from 9a.m. to 9p.m. at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

Funeral service for Mr. Baskerville will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:a.m. at the Church of Christ 234 N South Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23803, Minister Phillip Jones, Officiating.
