Antonio Moore, 51, of Richmond, Virginia was called to Glory by our Heavenly Father on December 31, 2018 at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, Virginia after a brief illness. He was a loving fiancé, father, grandfather, son, brother and dedicated uncle.

Tony liked fun loving activities and gatherings with family and friends. He loved to cook on the grill, laugh, clean his vehicle and playing basketball on the courts in Jarratt with nephews and friends.

Tony was born on December 7, 1967 to William and Mary Moore. He was educated in the public school system of Sussex County, Virginia and graduated in the Class of 1986 from Sussex Central High School. Tony also played basketball during his high school years.

At an early age, Tony was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church, Yale, Virginia. Recently he rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Richmond, Virginia.

Tony moved to Maryland in 1990 where he worked as a mechanic for the government for many years. He then relocated to Richmond where he worked for the City of Richmond, Virginia.

Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Moore, sisters Evangeline Moore and Brenda Moore-Vaden.

Tony leaves to cherish his memories, children, Antonio Moore, Jr., Alexis Moore and Mason Harris all of Maryland; fiancé Ida (Micki) Hector and her daughter, Dystini Graves of Richmond, VA; father, William Moore of Jarratt, VA; siblings, Jannie Taylor (Leon) of Prince George, VA, William Andrew Moore of Upper Marlboro, MD, Gloria Urquhart of Waverly, VA, Veronica Hazel of Petersburg, VA, Samuel D. Moore, Sr. (Stephanie) of Waverly, VA, Rena Moore of Dinwiddie, VA, and Suprina Johnson (Reginald) of Woodbridge, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including a lifelong friend, Troy Putman of Maryland.

A celebration of life service for Antonio Moore will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church, 18183 Old Forty Road, Waverly, VA, with the Rev. Jameson McLaughlin, Pastor, Rev. John A. Wynn, Eulogist, Rev. Michael A. Sanders, Officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, VA. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Public viewing will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m. and Friday, January 4, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

The family will assemble at 9:45 a.m. on the day of service and will receive relatives and friends at the residence of his father William Moore, 9207 Maclin Avenue, Jarratt, Virginia.
