Obituary
Marvin Eugene Guy, peacefully departed this earthly life Thursday, Jan 05, 2023 at the young age of 59. Marvin, born March 30, 1963, was the youngest of seven children born to the late Vernice Jones Guy and Hugh Downey “Pete” Guy.
Marvin was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Lee Guy.
Marvin was educated in the Pittsylvania County School System. He worked various jobs throughout his life. Marvin enjoyed life and “cutting the fool”. He was known to tell it like it was. To know him was to love him. We will always cherish the fond memories of him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Nancy Gunn (Dennis) of Danville, VA; three brothers, Sherman Guy (special friend Millicent), Herman Guy (Diane), and Walter Guy (special friend Connie) all of Danville, VA; three aunts, Lover Kay Guy and Mollie Stone both of Chatham, VA; Beulah Jones of Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Hazel Guy, four nieces, two nephews, six great nieces, four great nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 12 noon at Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, 581 Fairview Road, Chatham, Virginia. Pastor Herbert Dickerson, Orange Grove Baptist Church Officiating.
Public Viewing will be on Monday, January 9, 2023 at J. L. Dodson and Son Funeral Establishment, 447 Old South Main Street Danville, Virginia from 2p.m. to 6pm and visitation of relatives and friends from 6 pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Mask are required.
The family is asked to assemble at the church at 11:45 a.m. on the day of service.
