Mr. William Leon Wells

Obituary

In His infinite wisdom and gentle grace, Almighty God reached down from Heaven and whispered ever so quietly to one of his children these words: “Come with me my son for it’s time to go home” and so it was that Thursday, December 26, 2024 God closed the eyes of our beloved Shakey.

William Leon Wells affectionately known as “Skakey” of Halifax County Virginia was born on July 5, 1954 to Mamie Wells Tucker of Vernon Hill Virginia.  At young age he moved to Maryland  where he lived until the Lord called him home.

“Shakey” was a kind soul with a heart of gold, always there for his family and friends. He attended special services at St. Mark’s UAME Church in Valley Lee, Maryland. His hobbies were working on different landscaping jobs, watching wrestling and cooking.  He loved his mother and grandmother.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Malissie Crews and maternal grandfather Melvin Wells.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Mamie Tucker of Vernon Hill, VA.. five brothers, Lawrence Wells of South Boston, VA., Grayson Tucker of Richmond, VA., Gordon Tucker of Vernon Hill, VA., Alphonso Tucker of  South Boston, VA. and Gary Tucker of Vernon Hill, VA; four sisters, Brenda Howerton (Elder William Howerton) of South Boston, VA., Loretta Burkes of Halifax, VA., Frances Chandler of Alexandria, VA. and Cynthia Easley of South Boston, VA; one uncle, George Crews (Annette) one aunt, Marie Leigh and a special cousin, Norma Smith. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends, as well as  a long time companion Pearl Jordan of Lexington Park, Maryland.
