Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn Lipscomb Evans peacefully passed at her residence on April 22, 2022.
She was born on February 12, 1938 in Caswell County to the late Harrison Gwen and Helen Lipscomb Williamson.
Throughout her life, Evelyn was employed as a cook for Quick Check and a caretaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, upholstery, antiques and a great love for beautifying her home. She loved riding out looking at homes and yard sales.
Evelyn was a lifetime member of Sassafras Grove Baptist Church in Blanch, North Carolina, under the leadership of the late Reverend Bigelow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Evans, one aunt, Ella L. Hunt, whom she loved dearly and two brothers, Donald David Williamson and Freddie James Williamson (Sam-Bo).
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Arhlene Brandon of the residence; two sons, John Lipscomb (Marion) and Kenneth Evans (Cynthia) both of Danville, Va.; four sisters, Sherdinia Jefferys (Benard), Jean Pride (late Artis Pride),Janice Williamson, Janie Willis (Hurley)both of Blanch, North Carolina, Mary Oliver (Woodrow C. Oliver) of Danville, Virginia; two brothers, Danny Williamson (late Linda Williamson) of North Carolina, Roy Williamson-Spud of Danville, Virginia; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Evelyn Lipscomb Evans will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022 at J. L. Dodson and Son Funeral Establishment. Rev. Jonathan King, Officiating.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment Danville Virginia.
The family is asked to assemble at J. L. Dodson and Son Funeral Establishment at 12:45 p.m. on day of service.
