Obituary
Mrs. Odaris Stephens Clark, 95, of 2804 Mount Zion Circle Ringgold, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 3:01a.m.
She was born on May 19, 1927 to the late Claude and Lelia Stephens in Pittsylvania County. She was the last survivor of her generation. Odaris attended old Southside High School and later retired from Dimon Tobacco Company after working for 42 years. She was married to the late Harry Clark and the union was blessed with three children.
Odaris loved her church. She was a faithful member of the Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She was a member of the Music Ministry and Sunday School.
Odaris was preceded in death by one daughter, Odessa Clark; one son, Willie Clark; four sisters, Alice Bowe, Ollie Barksdale, Mary Stephens, and Elnora Logan Carter; and five brothers, Clarence Stephens, Linwood Stephens, Howard Stephens, Herman Stephens and Eddie Stone.
Odaris is survived by a devoted daughter, Linda Gayle Clark; granddaughter, LaChelle Clark; grandsons, Kevin and Kelly Clark; two sisters, Lois Tabb of Danville, Virginia and Dorothy Minter of Chatham, Virginia; and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive family and friends at the residence, 2804 Mount Zion Circle Ringgold, Virginia from the hours of 2pm – 7pm. Masks are required.
Service for Mrs. Odaris Stephens Clark will be held at 12:00p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, 581 Fairview Rd, Chatham, Va. with Apostle Shawn Stephen, Presiding and Rev. Anthony Ferebee, The Mount, Chesapeake, Virginia, Eulogizing.
A public viewing will be Friday, November 18, 2022, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment-Danville.
The family is asked to assemble at the residence at 10:45 am on the day of the service.
