Obituary
On Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at her home, 323 Cedarbrook Drive Danville, Virginia, God sent his Angel to accompany Ruby Ann Myers Green on her final flight to be with him at her Heavenly home on High.
One of seven children, she was born on November 4, 1954 in Chatham, Virginia, to the late Clarence Myers and Dorothy King Myers. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ and joined Macedonia Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her decline in health. On October 29, 2009, she survived a near fatal car accident that left her paralyzed and disabled.
Ruby was educated in the Pittsylvania County School System. She was employed by numerous companies including Doyle Enterprise, Health – Tex, and Pulaski and Stanley Furniture Companies, where she was a friend and confidante to many.
She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Dorothy King Myers; two brothers, Benjamin Franklin Myers and William Grant, Jr.; and two brothers in law, Clyde Hodge and Melvin Echols.
Those left to cherish her precious memories, her only daughter, Tena Renee Daye of Danville, Virginia; three sons, Edward “Maxwell” Daye, Draper Lee Daye both of Danville, Virginia and Jonathan Andrew Daye of Greensboro, North Carolina; three sisters, Hilda Myers (Calvin) of Chatham, Virginia, Mary Hodge of Martinsville, Virginia and Janice Echols of Danville, Virginia; one brother, Andrew Myers of Danville, Virginia; five grandchildren she loved dearly, Nghia, Jaytease, Antonias, Omari and Tomari; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Ruby Ann Myers Green will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 2412 Green Pond Rd, Chatham, Virginia, Rev. MacArthur Myers, Sr. Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Remains will lie in state one hour prior to service.
The family is asked to assemble at the residence, 323 Cedarbrook Drive, Danville, Va. at 1:45 p.m. on the day of service.
