On June 1, 2012, Antoine Andre Woodhouse of 600 Winston Churchill Drive, Apt. 17F, Hopewell, Va. departed this life to rest in the presence of the Lord, at Southside Regional Medical Center Petersburg, Va. With sadness, we are happy that he is rejoicing in heaven.
Antoine was the son of a beloved, entrusted mother, Violet Woodhouse Smith of Petersburg, Va. and the late Joseph Smith of Petersburg, Va., and stepson of Phillip E. Smith Sr. of Stony Creek, Va. At an early age Antoine confessed his life to Christ and joined Rock Church, Petersburg, Va. He was a skilled welder by profession.
Antoine leaves to cherish, a loving and blessed wife, Angelica R. Woodhouse of Hopewell, Va.; two sons, Antoine Smith, and Joseph Smith, both of Prince George, VA ; two daughters, Chandra Mayfield of Petersburg, Va and Angel Woodhouse of Hopewell, VA; and two step children, DeMarcus Ripley of Waverly, VA and DeAndre Ripley of Hopewell, VA. He also leaves to cherish, two loving brothers, Florentino Woodhouse and Phillip Smith II (Aja), both of Petersburg, Va.; four sisters- in law, Fannie Pritchard of Petersburg, VA, Isabelle Dennis (Joseph) of Prince George, Va., Nellie Randall (Oscar) of Petersburg, Va. and Vizel Turner (James) of Wakefield, Va.; one brother in law Willie Ripley (Sandra) of Maryland; two longtime friends whom he adored, Corey Hardy of Prince George, VA, and Corby Miller also of Prince George, Va.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; among them a loving, devoted cousin Vickie M. May of Hopewell, Va., who will miss him dearly.
The funeral service for Mr. Antoine Andre Woodhouse will be conducted at 1:00pm, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the chapel of J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment 25824 Greensville Ave. Petersburg, Va., Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., officiating. Interment will be in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park Cemetery, Petersburg, Va.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5,2012 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and on Wednesday June 6,2012 from 10:00am to 9:00pm at the funeral home.
The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Violet Smith, 1655 S. Crater Rd. Apt. 30, Petersburg, Va.,and the family is asking that relatives and friends assemble at her residence on the day of the service at 12:00 noon.
