Mr. James Douglas Richardson “Lil James” of 2831 Rolyart Rd. Petersburg, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Hopewell Health Care Center in Hopewell, Virginia.
James was born on December 26, 1963 in Sussex, Virginia. He was educated in the Sussex County Public School System in Sussex, Virginia. James was employed with Virginia Diner in Wakefield, Virginia.
Lil James, as he was affectionately known, was preceded in death by his father, James Douglas; and his brothers, Eugene Richardson and Gregory Richardson.
James leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Florence Wyche of Hopewell, Va.; his brother, Frankie Richardson of Hopewell, Va.; his sister, Angela Richardson of Hopewell, Virginia.; his aunts, one devoted, Evelyn Lewis of Petersburg, Va.; Joyce Ricks, Larose Moore, and Brenda Woodam , all of Richmond, Va. Mittie Moore and Mary Moore both of Philadelphia and Ollie Colbert of Oklahoma.; his uncles, Jerry Moore of Richmond, Va., Joseph Moore of Philadelphia, Andrew Taylor, Johnnie Taylor and Ernest Taylor, all of Petersburg, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, one devoted, Wilson Taylor.
Funeral services for Mr. James D. Richardson will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 12: 00 noon from the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Pastor. Elder Ronald Lowery, Refreshing Streams Ministry, Petersburg, Va., Pastor, Officiating. Interment will follow in Bland ford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Rd. Petersburg, Virginia. Remains will lie in repose at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. on the day of the service. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence of his sister, Ms. Angela Richardson, 1103 Winston Church Hill Dr. Hopewell, Virginia at 10:45 am on the day of the service.
Public viewing will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 11:00am to 8:00pm at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment 25824 Greensville Ave. Petersburg, Va. Online condolences may be registered at www.jldodsonandsons.com .
