Ms. Adleana Blakes of Petersburg, Virginia departed this life on August 15, 2015, at Southside Regional Medical Center.
She was born to the late James Blakes and Annie Adkins Blakes on February 13, 1933.
Adleana was preceded in death by a sister, Louetta Blakes (Maclin, Sr.) of Petersburg, Va.; three brothers, Robert Blakes of New York (formerly of Petersburg), Johnny Blakes of Petersburg,, Va, Sgt. Walter Blakes ( Beatrice) of South Carolina; and a niece, Patricia Brown of Petersburg, Virginia.
She is survived by her nephews, Maclin C. Brown, Jr. (Essie) of Hopewell, Va., Larry Brown, Alfred Brown, Donald Brown, and Donnie Brown all of Petersburg, Va., and David Blakes (Sabrina) of South Carolina; nieces, Matilda M. Brown, Elsie M. Brown, Jean C. Brown, Barbara B. Chatman (Arthur), Sandra A. Brown and Cynthia B. Morton all of Petersburg, Va.; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins,other relatives and friends.
Service of remembrance for Ms. Adleana Blakes will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, Rev. Dr. Andrew J. White, Pastor Emeritus of Zion Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA., and Union Branch Baptist Church Prince George, Va., officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery Petersburg, Va. The family is asking relatives and friends to assemble at the funeral home at 10:45am on the day of the service.
