Mr. Luther Hugo “Cat Fast” Cooley 82 of 722 South Sycamore St. Petersburg, Va., entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 14, 2016 at his residence.

Luther was born in Chesterfield County to the late Solomon Cooley and Fannie Wilkins Cooley.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church Chesterfield, Va.

“Cat Fast” was employed by Green Leaf Dairy Colonial Heights, Va., and he loved landscaping, working on tv’s, irons and toasters . He enjoyed working with his hands and always smiling.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Stewart, Ellen Friend, Pearl Mahone, Rosa Lee Powell, Othia Cheatham and Gladys Boone; brothers, Warren S. Cooley and Isaac Ike Cooley.

He leaves to cherish her memory a devoted sister, Minnie Core (Elree Core) of Ettrick, Va.; nephew, Herbert L. Wynn, Jr. of Richmond, Va.; girl friend, Sylvia Russell of Petersburg, Va.; and a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mr. Luther Cooley will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 9am to 8pm at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

Funeral service for Mr. Luther H. Cooley will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00am at the chapel of J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment Petersburg, Va. with Rev. Marcus N. Leggett, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, Chesterfield, Va.,Officiating.

Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va.

Family and friends are asked to assemble at 9:45am at the residence of his sister and brother-in-law Minnie and Elree Core 3500 E. River Rd. S. Chesterfield, Va., on the day of the service.
