Mr. Jonathan Lanier, “Joe”, 61, of 2004 S. Whitehill Dr. Petersburg, Virginia peacefully entered eternal rest early Tuesday morning, November 29, 2016.
Jonathan was a native of Sussex County, Virginia but he resided in Petersburg, Virginia the majority of his life. He was a graduate of Petersburg High School.
Jonathan received Christ at any early age and was baptized at Wilburn Baptist Church Sussex County, Virginia and later became a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church Of God In Christ Petersburg, Virginia. He was employed by Boars Head until his health declined.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Lanier, Sr. and mother, Adelean Lanier, and parental grandparents, Joseph and Daisy Whittaker.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Sheila Lanier; daughter, Rosia Holloway; granddaughter, Taijahnae Holloway; grandson, Tazion Holloway; three sisters, Gloria Taylor(Johnnie) of South Prince George, Va., Celestine Walden(Jerome, Jr.) and Sandra Lanier both of Petersburg, Va.; three brothers, Franklin, Jr.(Melissa)of Petersburg, Va., Ronald Lanier(Berdina) of NC, and Fitzgerald Lanier(Laura) of Cal.; three nieces; six nephews; devoted friends, Robert Thompson, Thomas Taylor, Donna Cole, Cindy Bryant and Ernest Taylor; and a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.
