Edith Donahue, 60, of Blairs, VA., transitioned to her heavenly home unexpectedly on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at SOVAH Health in Martinsville, VA.
Edith was born on October 27, 1957. Edith’s smile brightened the world and she brought extreme joy to those that knew her. She worshipped at Vance Street Missionary Baptist Church and Greater Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, volunteering at both churches food bank ministries. She also worshipped at the Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Edith enjoyed traveling, listening to music, dancing, Zumba and spending time with her close friends. She loved to have her hair done at the beauty shop, dressing up, wearing makeup and jewelry. Edith enjoyed spending time with her care provider’s family and close friends. We do know that Edith’s last days were her BEST days.
Edith is survived by her loving care provider, Rita Childress, with whom she had resided with for the past four years. She will also be missed and remembered by a host of friends, including close friends, Herbert Reaves, LaTonya Anderson, Sue Porter, Loretta Childress, Jackie Coles, Eleanor Childress, Amy Dodson, and LaQuanta Tunstall.
A celebration of Edith’s life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017, 12:00pm, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 399 Hill Crest Lane, Chatham, VA., 24531.
