Mrs. Alice W. Holloway, 81, of Spring Grove, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Battlefield Health Care Center Petersburg, Va.

Alice was born on August 12, 1937 in Surry, VA. to the late Virginia Wilson Saunders and Burlie Clark. Alice was reared by her grandparents (acc.to Prov.22:6) Shirley and Wilson.

Alice was a faithful and devoted member of Abundant Life Christian Church. She served on the usher board and was a member of the choir. She was a graduate of L.P. Jackson High School in Dendron, Va., Class of 1956. Over the years, she worked in various capacities. Her last employment was at Coggins Point , Prince George, VA where she worked for Attorney James and Attorney David Harrison.

Alice was married to the late Archie Thomas Holloway for 47 years and to this union one son, Reginald L. Holloway (deceased Urcell) was born. Alice also fostered two children, Vanessa Scott and Shaun Wooden; and two grandchildren, Shannon Allen (John) and Alicia Scott.

Alice will be remembered for her Diva Style of fashion, fashionable hats, fancy suits (dresses) and fashionable heels. She was also known for driving the best cars. Alice was a great cook and kept a clean house. Her favorite meal was roast beef, cabbage and potatoes.
In our hearts we believe Alice loved everyone she met. She was just a kind hearted, loving, caring person. After the passing of her husband, it wasn’t too long that she moved and became the care taker for her Aunt Bessie. She was the best, loyal, devoted person in the entire universe.

Alice leaves to always honor and cherish her memories to her son Reginald L. Holloway; her sister Annie Mae Fields (Wilbert); foster daughter, Vanessa Scott; foster son, Shaun Wooden; foster granddaughters, Shannon Allen(John) and Alisha Scott; dedicated, loving and devoted cousins, Ruth P. Bailey, Florence P. Holloway (Ezekiel), Bettie Hughes (William), Avis Hampton (Alvin), and Pastor Leon Pettaway (Sheila); one sister- in -law, Deloris H. Rich; two brothers- in- law, Joseph G. Holloway(Myrtle), and Ezekiel Holloway(Florence); one devoted niece, Sandra Butts (Kevin); a great host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; a close friend, Mrs. Thelma Jones, Mrs. Marie Pierce, Mrs. Jerlene Elliot, Mrs. Roselyn Elliot , Mr. James H. White and Jean Talley.

Public viewing will be on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 1p.m. to 8pm and on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 9:00am to 9:00pm.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice W. Holloway will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Abundant Life Christian Church, 784 Cabin Point Road, Spring Grove, Va. with Pastor Leon Pettaway, Officiating. Interment to follow in the Abundant Life Christian Church Cemetery.
The family is asking that relatives, friends and Pallbearers assemble at 11:45 am on the day of the service at the Church.
