Mrs. Mary Catherine Hummel, 81, formerly of RD3 Pine Grove, passed away on May 27, 2019 in Bon Secours Memorial Hospital, Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Born July 23, 1937 in Sweet Valley Pa., Mary was the daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Hamersley.  Mary was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church.

Her husband, Richard D. Hummel preceded her in death in 1981. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Harry, Delbert, Donald, Clarence Jr., and Sam; and sisters, Virginia, Alpharetta, and Dolores. 

Surviving are her sons, Mr. Douglas A. Hummel, Fleetwood Pa. and Mr. Mark H. Hummel, Wyalusing Pa.; and Mrs. Debra A. Somers, Petersburg Va.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Bernadine Amorosi, Livingston N.J. and Mrs. Lois Phillips, Shickshinny Pa.; and brother, Gilbert Hamersley, Hunlock Creek Pa.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Snyder Funeral Home in Pine Grove Pa. with the Pastor Barry Spatz of the Pine Grove St. Peters Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peters Lutheran Church cemetery 312 S. Tulpehocken St. Pine Grove PA. at 3:00 pm following the services.
