Demietre Rashad Brandon entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 18, 2025. “Mietre” was born on June 14, 1992, in Danville, Virginia., to Francine B. Brandon and the late Algie W. Brandon.

Demietre was educated in the Danville Public Schools.

“Mietre” was an overcomer. Born with cerebral palsy, he never let his physical challenges hold him back. He was a ‘get up and go kind of person’. He always had a positive outlook on life, and he had a smile that would melt your heart. He had a fierce love for his family, especially his mother. Everyone that met “Mietre” would ‘fall in love with him’.

“Mietre” joined the White Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age and served on the Usher Board. He was a ‘mama’s boy. He and his mother shared a special bond, leaning and depending on one another, encouraging one another, supporting each other. They stuck together through good times, and bad times, in happy times and in sad times.

“Mietre” was employed at Dollar General, South Boston, VA., for five years. He recently started working in the maintenance dept. He had a wealth of friends, and he never met a stranger.

Demietre was preceded in death by his father Algie Brandon; his grandfather, Alfred Boyd; his great-grandparents, Robert and Pauline Boyd, and Mary Nett Patrick; and his  grandparents, Claude and Cornelia Brandon.

Left to cherish the precious memories are his mother, Francine Brandon; brothers, Rontae, Eric, and Marquis Brandon; sister, Javonn Hamlett; grandmother, Addie Borns (Charles); Bonus Moms, Vanessa and Renea “Tink Tink”; aunts, Charlene Borns, Patricia King, Minnie Chavis and Shirley Barley; great aunts, Barbara Goode and Juanita Boyd; uncles, George Brandon (Margaret) and Joe Brandon; great uncles, Samuel Barksdale and Lewis Patrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
