Obituary
Honoring our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and dear friend, Mrs.Kathleen Murphy Saunders, of 132 Levelton Street, Danville Virginia entered into eternal on October 21, 2023 at Roman Eagle Health and Rehabilitation Center in Danville, Virginia.
Kathleen was born on July 27, 1936 in Reidsville, North Carolina to the late Albert Murphy and Martha Jane Murphy. She was married to the late Nathaniel Saunders.
She was a cook in several establishments around Danville and she enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She attended the Danville School Systems. She also became a member of Bennett Memorial Church on October 9, 2016.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her son, Raymond Saunders; a grandson Marcus Saunders and a sister, Earlene Harris.
Kathleen leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Nathaniel Saunders, Daryl Murphy and Jarrell Murphy; three daughters, Shirley Ann Saunders, Deborah McLaughlin and Willerdean Saunders; she also leaves behind grandchildren, who was dear to her heart, Carlos, Devon, Lacheryl, Lakisha, Shantel, Jamell, Jamiyah, Takeisha and Aniyah; great grandchildren; and a niece; two nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Kathleen Saunders will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Bennett Memorial Baptist Church, 165 Levelton Street, Danville, Virginia. Pastor Voight Hairston, Bennett Memorial Baptist Church, Presiding and Pastor Ke’Aunte Clements, Mount Freeman Baptist Church, Eulogist.
A public viewing will be held at Bennett Memorial Baptist Church, 165 Levelton Street, Danville, Virginia on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 5 pm – 7pm.
The family is asked to assemble at 11:45 a.m. at the church on the day of the service.
