Obituary
Ms. Grace Carolyn Greene entered eternal rest peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023.
Grace was born December 13, 1956 to the late Peter and Mary Greene. She was educated in Sussex County Public School System, where she graduated in 1976 and later in life she moved to Minnesota. Grace moved back to Virginia to be with her family when her health began to decline.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Hunting Quarter Baptist Church, Stoney Creek and later joined Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ Petersburg.
Grace was employed as an Environmental Service Worker in Housekeeping for 16 years and worked at Ambon Pain Restaurant for over 10 years.
Grace was a lovable person with a smile that would light up a room and had a love and passion for children.
Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Lou Green; brothers, Joseph, David and James Green; sisters, Kathleen Burrow, Bertha and Helen Green; nephews, Eric Green and Bernard Gurley.
She is survived by her loving sisters, Annie Williams (Carl), Marva Rogers (Earl), Hester Greene, Joyce Green, Mary Green and Gail Raspberry; devoted god daughters, Bonnie Jones (Dwayne) and Connie Cheatham; a devoted friend, Pamela Hinton James of Minnesota; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, Petersburg.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm. at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA, Bishop Designate Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., Eulogist and Minister Jacklyn Burrow, Officiating. Interment will follow in Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery, Petersburg, VA.
The family is asking that relatives and friends assemble at the residence of her niece, Bonnie Jones (Dwayne) 546 Petty St., Petersburg at 11:45 am. on day of service.
Masks are required at all visitations and services.
