Robert Edward Cabaniss Jr., 73, of McKenney VA., died peacefully at his residence on January 13, 2021. He was born September 20, 1947 in Petersburg VA.  He was the son of the late Robert Edward Cabaniss Sr. and the late Rena Cabaniss Rowe.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Robert Cabaniss; and sister Bonnie Keffer.

Robert is survived by his life partner, Trudy C. Fristoe; his sons, Robert Edward Cabaniss III “Bobby”, and John Richard Cabaniss “Ricky”; his loving daughter-in-law, Angela Marie Cabaniss “Angie”; and their half-brother, Kelvin Wayne Reiners “Wayne”, whom he viewed as his own son. He leaves three grandchildren, his grandson, John Robert Cabaniss “Robby”, and granddaughters, Anna Marie Cabaniss, and Destiny Lynn Jewel Reiners. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles C.Cabaniss and William E. Cabaniss; and his sisters, Patricia Kelly, Shirley Boyce, and Judy Gump; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 2:00pm at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment.

Masks are required at all services and visitations. Attendees are asked to also adhere to social distancing and other CDC guidelines as requested.
